The Victor C (or "Type C") was an improvement to the Type A and B models, and was introduced shortly after the company was formed in 1901. It sold new for $25.00, and production ran for only 1 year. A brass horn was standard along with a single spring motor and "Standard" Soundbox, and a small 7-inch turntable. This model was the first to utilize a side-mounted crank which allowed the user to wind the phonograph with a record on the turntable. Earlier models had a vertical crank that had to be removed before playing a record. Exact production numbers are unknown. Early Victor models like the "C" are highly collectable.
