Collection History
We were born, raised, and married in Korea. We moved to the United States in 1970.
June 1970 - I bought our first Phonograph, a Victrolia VV-XI, for $75
August 1988 - The first outside horn machine... an Edison standard B
1989 - Joined the Michigan Antique Phonograph Society
June 1989 - The first phonograph book... Compleat Talking Machine by Eric Reiss(still my best friend. Yes, I have the second , the third and the fifth editions)
November 1993 - The first disc machine...A Victor V(to celebrate my son's acceptance to a medical school)
February 1994 - Attended my first MAPS meeting. After the meeting, visited Dave Abfalter's to see his huge collection of phonographs and records, many many records.
June 1994 - The first trip to the Union Phonograph Show(got the Edison Gem E, see photo below).
1995 - Visited the collections of John Johnson and Ken Stokes(nearly 700 machines!. Many rarities)
June 1997 - After the Union Show, visited the Victorian Palace(Jesper's Collection).
2010 - Still Collecting.
